Book group at Bishop Janes
Looking for an enriching way to explore thought-provoking literature and scripture? Join the Bishop Janes UMC Book Group! This vibrant community of readers meets monthly for lively discussions on carefully selected books spanning diverse genres. The book group welcomes new members to join their engaging conversations. Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month from September through November and January through May at 7:00 PM in Classroom 3/4. Members collectively suggest the book selections, ensuring a wide range of compelling reads.

While the Book Group takes a hiatus for the summer months, we encourage you to delve into the greatest book of all - the Bible! Summer can provide extra time for spiritual nourishment through reading and studying God's word.
Here are some ideas to help you dig deeper into scripture this season:
-
Read through a whole book of the Bible. Pick a book you've never read in its entirety and take it chapter by chapter, slowly digesting its message.
-
Study a character's life. Choose a biblical figure that intrigues you and trace their story from start to finish across multiple books. What lessons can you learn from their experiences?

In addition to the book discussions, the group often gathers for an optional pre-meeting dinner to connect in a relaxed setting.
Make this summer one of intellectual nourishment and fellowship by getting involved!
