What's Happening at BJUMC

THE STORY DOESN'T START ON EASTER
Imagine opening a novel to the final chapter, or watching only the last scene of an epic film. You'd miss all the depth, tension, and meaning that make the ending powerful.
Easter is like that—a triumphant finale to an extraordinary story that unfolds across three sacred days. We invite you to experience the complete journey:
MAUNDY THURSDAY (April 17, 6:30 PM • Melick Hall)
The story begins around a table. Jesus gathers with friends for a last meal, kneels to wash their feet, and gives them a new commandment: "Love one another as I have loved you." Click here to RSVP.
Join for a shared meal where we'll wash feet, break bread, and enter into the intimate beginning of the Easter story. Bring soup, salad, sandwiches, or dessert to share.
GOOD FRIDAY (April 18, 7:00 PM • Sanctuary)
The narrative darkens as we witness love's ultimate sacrifice. Our combined choirs with Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church will present "Not My Will but Yours" as we experience the growing shadows and contemplate the cross.
EASTER SUNRISE (April 20, 6:30 AM • Evergreen Cemetery)
As dawn breaks, we stand where death seems to have the final word—until we discover an empty tomb. This brief service at the mausoleum lets us experience firsthand the astonishing transition from darkness to light.
EASTER SUNDAY (April 20, 9:30 AM • Sanctuary)
The story reaches its joyful conclusion as we celebrate resurrection with music, communion, and community. We'll launch our "Made for More" series, take family portraits, and share fellowship over bagels.
Every great story deserves to be experienced from beginning to end. This Holy Week, don't just skip to the last page—discover how each moment creates the meaning that makes Easter truly transformative.
"The cross of salvation was only the start... I was made for more."
Metro-Highlands Monthly Prayer Meetings (online)
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." - Philippians 4:6
In today's busy world, we all need moments of peace and connection. Join our church family for 30 minutes of guided prayer on the first Monday of each month at 12:00 PM. Whether you're at home, work, or on the go, you can participate in this meaningful time of community prayer and support.
Starting March 3, members of the Metro-Highlands region will gather monthly to share their joys and concerns, lifting each other up in prayer. All are welcome – stay for the full session or drop in when you can. No experience needed!
