Blue Prayer Papers are available at the Sunday morning services. Write on the blue prayer papers the names of those you want lifted in prayer. The papers will be collected during the prayer time and the staff will lift them in prayer during the weekly staff meeting.
The Candle of Hope is the green candle in the Sanctuary.
- The candle was placed near the organ console in the mid-1990’s in response to a resolution adopted by the Northern New Jersey Annual Conference that all United Methodist Churches in the conference place a Candle of Hope in their sanctuaries as a sign of seeking God’s blessing on finding a cure for AIDS and to represent the church’s concern for those suffering from AIDS.
- When the Worship & Music Ministry Team placed the candle in the sanctuary, the team noted that as-well-as signifying our concern for those with AIDS, we also continue to seek God’s healing mercies for all persons who suffer from disease of any kind.
- The traditional Christian color for hope is green.
- The light of the candle reminds us that Jesus’ ministry included bringing healing to those whose lives were broken by disease of mind, body, spirit and relationships.
A mid-week service of Holy Communion, Meditation and Prayer is offered every Wednesday at 7:00 PM at Fellowship Village in Liberty Corner, NJ.
Persons and Families who are interested in pursuing membership at Bishop Janes UMC are invited to speak with Pastor David Dutcher. Information about the process of affiliating with Bishop Janes will be shared with you.
